Tiramisu French Toast

This Tiramisu French Toast truly is one of the most delicious French Toast recipes I’ve ever created. They are soft, elevated, and decadent. And the best part about using them as a Christmas morning breakfast is that you can make the mascarpone whipped cream, and chocolate ganache, a day or two in advance to save time on Christmas morning.

If you’re a fan of tiramisu, this recipe will hit the spot. And, when you tell your house guests you’ve just casually whipped up tiramisu french toast, you automatically get chef bragging rights.

I mean, look at that stack! She’s a show-stopper, with the taste to boot.

French Toast Ingredients:

1 Loaf of Brioche Bread
1/2 Cup Strongly Brewed Coffee
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup + 1 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tbsp Dark Rum
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Flaky Sea Salt
6 Large Eggs
1 tsp Cocoa Powder

Mix everything together in a shallow bowl (I like to use a good ol’ pie plate), adding the hot coffee in last. Dip your brioche bread into the dredge for 10-15 seconds to allow the flavors to soak into the bread. Then,

Mascarpone Whipped Cream:

1 Cup Heavy
1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
8 oz Mascarpone, cold
1/2 tsp Vanilla

Whip everything together in a stand mixer until it becomes light and fluffy. Put it in the fridge as you’re making everything else so you can keep it cold. Alternatively, make this Christmas Eve so you have less to do on Christmas morning. You’ll spread a layer on top of one slice of french toast, top it with another slice to create a stuffed french toast effect, and then put a dollop on top of the stack.

Chocolate Ganache:

1/4 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1/2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Melt all of the ingredients in a saucepan, stirring constantly, until everything starts to come together. It should be a thicker consistency. You’ll drizzle this on top of your french toast slices with the mascarpone whip.

Let me know what you think!
